Statement of Fundraising Intent
It will cost the Recreation for Life Foundation an
estimated $3,000 to raise these funds through the 10 for 10
campaign. The money raised will be
directed to support ARPA to further develop recreation and parks services and the
benefits they generate to citizens and communities throughout
Alberta.
The Recreation for Life Foundation is a provincial not-for-profit,
charitable agency that raises funds and whose primary purpose is to
receive, manage, distribute, invest, and administer bequest,
endowments, trusts, and other financial programs. The Foundation has
been
incorporated in Alberta under the Provincial-Societies Act since January 13, 2003. The primary
purpose of the Foundation is to support the activities of the
Alberta Recreation and Parks Association, itself a provincial
charitable not-for-profit organization that has existed since 1951.
Recreation and parks services offer unparalleled potential to
enhance individual, family, and community social and economic health
now and for generations to come. Recreation is not only inherent in
human nature, it is also a fundamental part of a civilized society.
